We opened in 2015 with a simple goal to better the barbering community in Edinburgh and create a space where skilled barbers could deliver great haircuts in a welcoming, chilled environment.
What started as a single shop on Dundas Street quickly grew as both our team and client base expanded. Now, with four locations across EdinburghOld Town, New Town, Haymarket, and Bruntsfield we remain true to our roots: quality cuts, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere.
The name Rag & Bone comes from Rob’s grandfather, a “Rag & Bone Man” who repurposed materials a spirit reflected in our stripped-back, industrial-style shops.
We’ve worked tirelessly to build a relaxed yet professional space where barbers can create, have fun, and grow together. We’re not a chain—we’re a team that loves what we do, staying true to our craft while always pushing forward.

“This small barber shop is really conveniently located, towards the north of the New Town in Edinburgh. It's very stylish inside and customers are offered free beers (Innis & Gunn) or Red Bull. The stylists are very skilled and I was really pleased with the quality of my haircut. The barber really took his time to understand what I wanted and made sure I was happy with how he had cut my hair before I left (and I was!). The price is really reasonable (about £25) which is a lot better than some other barbers in Edinburgh with the same standard & quality of service. I do recommend this place, and they have other branches in different parts of the city too, so make sure to check those out and find the one closest to you.”

Looking back on our journey, it all started with a simple desire to create a fun, creative space for cutting men's hair. as we approach a decade in the “burgh” , we feel we've only just begun to explore the possibilities with R&B.
